I have always had a fascination with homemade health treatments and loved learning about the healing properties of essential oils. It wasn’t until lockdown that I began to make my own body butter, experimenting with various base oils and butters, as well as trying out different combinations of essential oils. Body butter is perfect after a bath or a shower and ensures that the whole body is massaged and stimulated when we so often neglect to do this. I also feel so much better now that I know that what I am applying to my body is completely natural. When you really think about it, the skin is the biggest organ of the body and it absorbs whatever is applied to it, much like whatever we eat and drink is also ingested into the body. This means that we need to be paying attention to the skin products we are using and ensuring that we choose healthy, natural products without all the chemicals that are found in products on regular supermarket shelves.
